FEBRUARY NEWS     CURRICULUM February will be a very busy month. We will continue talking about the five senses and then celebrate Valentine Day. At the end of the month we will have our pajama day.     VALENTINE PARTIES We will have our Valentine parties on Thursday, Feb. 11, and Friday, Feb. 12. Please refer to the calendar for the day your class is celebrating.      When helping your child prepare their valentines, please do not address the envelope, as it makes distributing the valentines very time-consuming. Just have your child sign each valentine.  Thank you!     SCIENCE During February, the classes will be studying the water cycle. Mrs. Casper will do an experiment to demonstrate air pollution.  She will also talk about the importance of caring for our teeth. The theme of the science cart will be the human body. The Bear classes will talk about the ocean and the concept of sink/float.     PAJAMA DAY Pajama Day will be Thursday, February 25 for all morning and afternoon classes. The W/F Bears and the Puppy class will have Pajama Day on Friday, February 26. The children should wear their pajamas to school and they can bring a pillow and blanket/sleeping bag. We will have a pancake breakfast at the end of the day.      DR. BRUNER On Thursday, Feb.4 and Friday, Feb.5, our resident veterinarian, Dr. Bruner, will come into each classroom and talk with the children about how we use our five senses when playing with and caring for our pets. He will bring in different animals that the children can observe and pet. This has always been one of our favorite programs and we are so lucky to have Dr. Bruner’s expertise available to us. Please stop by the office or speak with your child’s teacher if your child has any animal allergies.     FRIENDSHIP DAY Some of our classes have not celebrated Friendship day yet because of the snow day in January. If your children have not brought in a baggie of their favorite cereal, please do so on Tuesday, Feb. 9. Also, if you have not brought in an empty cereal box, you can bring that in on the 9th also. Your teachers will give you more details.     COMING EVENTS  We will be having Mom and Me on March 9 and 10.  On Tuesday, March 9, the A.M. Turtles, Puppy  Class, T/Th Bears, and all afternoon classes will have Mom and Me. The W/F Bears and the A.M. Turtles will have Mom and Me on Wednesday, March 10.  Watch for the March newsletter for more details!
