Classes     All lead teachers at Montgomery Nursery School have a degree in Elementary Education. We are fortunate to have very little staff turnover. The majority of our staff has been at Montgomery Nursery School for over 10 years. All staff members are required to take continuing education courses that pertain to the preschool curriculum. We are regulated and inspected by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on a yearly basis.     Our curriculum is based on the developmental needs and abilities of three to five year olds with the ultimate goal of having each child academically, socially and emotionally ready to enter Kindergarten.  Our circle time, music, projects, speakers and field trips are all related to our curriculum. Our curriculum incorporates the Early Learning Contents Standards that were written by the Ohio Department of Education.       Pre-Kindergarten   Both three and four-day programs are offered for four and five year olds.  Three day classes are offered in both the morning and afternoon.  One four-day afternoon class is offered for children turning five before December 31st.  These are structured and well-balanced programs intended to prepare children for kindergarten.  These programs focus on developing math and reading readiness, small and large motor skills, with an emphasis on working both as a group and independently.      Three Year Olds   Both two and three-day programs are offered for three year olds.  Two-day classes are offered in the morning and one three-day class is offered in the afternoon.  Concentration is placed on working with peers in a group setting with an emphasis on developing a positive awareness of self and others.  Children also learn to work independently and follow simple instructions.  These programs are structured to encourage small and large motor skill development through a wide variety of activities.      Rising Threes   This program is held for one two hour session a week on Fridays.  It is intended to be an introduction to nursery school, and students will have opportunities for social interaction in a group setting with age appropriate activities.  Eligible children are those who turn three after September 1st and before December 31st.    Friday Friends   Friday Friends is held from 9:30 to 3 each Friday.  This is a mixed age group of children from three to five years old, taught by a certified teacher and an assistant teacher.  Each Friday is centered around a different theme with many hands on experiences.  Sign-up is on a monthly basis.
